Mount Eliza Wine District

Mount Eliza Wine District includes wineries and vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula between Mount Eliza and Mornington, and south of Frankston. This is a very popular holiday destination and weekend getaway spot for the people of Melbourne. The delightful coastline in the Mount Eliza district boasts spectacular jagged cliffs. There are many scenic bushwalking tracks along the cliffs with views of lovely secluded bay-side sandy beaches in the small bays and coves below. There are many holiday house in the area and a variety of other accommodation, and this area is an excellent base to use for exploring all the delights of the district. The Mount Eliza Regional Park,offers many walking tracks and views across the surrounding plains. There is a delightful lake at the southern end of the park that has excellent picnic areas and a child's playground. The Mornington Tourist Railway, which offers wonderful rides on restored steam trains rides stops at `Moorooduc Station` which is located next to the Mount Eliza Regional Park.The renowned Manyung Gallery is also worth visiting.

The Mornington Penisula Wine Region includes thirteen districts : Boneo ; Arthurs Seat ; Dromana ; Red Hill ; Shoreham ; Merricks ; Foxeys ; Balnarring ; Tuerong ; Main Ridge ; Moorooduc ; Mt Eliza ; Stanleys.
