climate The Piangil District includes wineries in the Swan Hill Region in Victoria along the banks of the Murray River between Haysdale and Nyah. Some of the many delightful towns and villages in the area include: Piangil, Haysdale, Toolefbuc, Wood Wood, Nyah. The delightful town of Piangil is a rather remote township in Northern Victoria, located about approximately 45 km north west of Swan Hill. Piangil lies across the border from the New South Wales town of Tooleybuc and on the junction of the Murray Valley Highway, and the Mallee Highway which leads to Ouyen in South Australia. This area is dominated by irrigated farms that grow citrus fruit and grapes. The neighbouring town of Nyah is situated on the banks of the Murray River where you can and you can join a riverboat cruise on a restored paddle steamer or relax on a modern houseboats, or launch you own tinnie for a spot of fishing or waterskiing. You can go horse riding at Mulberry farm located near Vinefra, or you will enjoy tasting the wines on a tour of the many vineyards and wineries in the area. The area around Nyah Forest has a fascinating collection of Aboriginal mounds and provide excellent bushwalking.
