Boneo Wine District

The Boneo Wine District includes wineries in the vicinity of Boneo, Fingal and Cape Schanck on the Mornington Peninsula. Boneo is a rural locality south of Melbourne, located south of and inland from Rosebud. The Boneo Community Market, held every 3rd Saturday, is a true community market with fresh baked bread and cakes, goats cheese, plants, home made arts and crafts, fresh local fruit and vegetables, and of course local wines. There are between 150 - 200 stalls art the market. There is also an animal farm for the kids and everything is home grown, home made or home baked. Cape Schanck is located at the southern tip of the Mornington Peninsula, facing the wild waters of Bass Strait. Cape Schanck Resort and Golf Course, with its bar and restaurant open to the public and you can visit and tour the famous Cape Schanck lighthouse which was built in 1859. The lighthouse is surrounded by a nature reserve and various historic buildings including the former keeper's quarters and a museum. From the lighthouse car park you can access a variety of scenic walks and tracks. Cape Schanck showcases the area's maritime history, and has many attractions including the beautiful rocky coastline features, unspoilt and secluded beaches, scenic bushwalking and mountain bike tracks with ocean views, and a range of fabulous golf courses in there surrounding area. Fingal is home to Peppers Moonah Links Resort, which is a premier golf destination. This resort proves you don’t have to go to Scotland to enjoy links golf at its best.

The Mornington Penisula Wine Region includes thirteen districts : Boneo ; Arthurs Seat ; Dromana ; Red Hill ; Shoreham ; Merricks ; Foxeys ; Balnarring ; Tuerong ; Main Ridge ; Moorooduc ; Mt Eliza ; Stanleys.
