Dorrigo Plateau Wine District

The Dorrigo Plateau Wine District is centred on the township of Dorrigo and is located a pleasant 30 minute scenic drive along the Waterfall Way from Bellingen, 30 minutes from Coffs Harbour, and 90 minutes from Armidale on the North Coast of New South Wales. The Dorrigo Plateau offers visitors and tourists a wondeful and diverse array of activities including 4-wheel driving, trout fishing, canyoning, canoeing, horse riding, canoeing, kayaking, white-water rafting, pack horse riding, abseiling, rock climbing, kayaking, bush walking, camping, scenic car tours and guided tours that include the local wineries and food outlets. Dorrigo has a very active local community and many regular events such as Local Shows, Arts and Craft Shows, Rodeos, Festivals, Theatre Performances, Pony Camps and various Sports Meets. Dorrigo has a thriving Arts, Craft and Culture scene in the local community including wood-workers, painters, carvers, sculpturers, ceramic artists and potters, fibre artists, metal workers, sculptors, paper makers, graphic artists, writers, musicians, and thespians. There are several local wineries that are well worth a visit.

The North Coast Wine Region is divided into seven districts for mapping and listing purposes: The local wine districts are: Coffs Harbour ; Kempsey ; Nambucca heads ; Bellingen ; Dorrigo ; Orara Valley ; Woolgoolga.
