climate The Yorke Penisula Wine Region includes vineyards and wineries on the Peninsula, south of Wallaroo and Port Wakefield. It includes the many friendly towns and villages in the area including: Maitland, Ardrossan, Port Victoria, Port Vincent, Port Wakefield, Warooka, Edithburgh, and Wallaroo. Although best known for its long sandy beaches fishing and historic copper mining towns, Yorke Peninsula is also home to many innovative seafood, other food and wine producers. Former cereal farmers Rod and Toni Gregory own the renowned Gregory's Wines that is located between Maitland and Ardrossan in the north of the Peninsula. Gregory's Wines is one of many innovative food producers on the Yorke Peninsula Home Grown Trail, a self-drive guide tour of the area that showcases produce from wine, to olives, oysters lavender, hand-made paper, alpacas and much more. Ardrossan has a temperate climate with regular sea breezes. Yorke Peninsula coastal waters provide wonderful the fishing and boating, some of the best in South Australia. Swim and go surfing in the crystal clear marine waters, go bushwalking the many nature trails in the area nature reserves, enjoy the secluded beaches. Innes National Park, which is located on the southern tip of the Yorke Peninsula has a diverse range of spectacular coastal landscapes, wildlife habitats and heritage sites.
