Maryborough Wine District, Bendigo

The Maryborough Wine District is centred on the towns of Maryborough, Bet Bet, Talbot and Avoca in the Bendigo Wine Region in the Central Goldfields area of Victoria. Maryborough lies in the heart of Victoria and the Goldfields, and provides an ideal base for visitors to explore the Bendigo region. Maryborough is also home to the lovely Box Ironbark Forest with its wonderful displays of Golden Wattle and wildflowers in springtime and many fabulous bed and breakfasts and other accommodation. The Central Goldfields Art Gallery has many fine art displays. See the magnificent historic Railway Station that was completed in 1891 it is now an award winning tourist attraction. It is home to the Antique Emporium, a Regional Wine Centre and a delightful cafe. Maryborough has some wonderful pubs, cafes and restaurants and many chraming cafes, bakeries and fresh-food outlets. Maryborough is c lose to a fascinating array of smaller Gold Rush towns, all within a 40 km radius, including Carisbrook, Bealiba, Dunolly, Talbot, Moliagul, Majorca and Timor each of which offer their own unique character and history. All the wineries in the Bendigo and Pyrenees Wine Region only 30-45 minutes away.
