The Woolgoolga Wine District is located on the North Coast of New South Wales about 580 km north of Sydney. The township of Woolgoolga is well known for its Sikh population and the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple dominates the town. The area is also a favourite spot for whale watching from the local headlands. There are many National Parks and nature reserves surrounding the town. The Wedding Bells State Forest has a wondeful remnant of subtropical rainforest that used to cover the entire area and is excellent for bushwalking camping, picnics and bird watching. species. The Woolgoolga Curryfest, held over the Easter holidays, celebrates the Indian culture in the townnd features an exciting program of food, entertainment, music and dance. Surfing is fantastic at Mullaway, Corindi, Arrawarra and Red Rock.
