The Jarrahdale District in the Perth Hills wine region includes the area surrounding the townships of Jarrahdale, Byford, Armadale and Orange Grove about 40 km SE of Perth. The Serpentine Valley has wonderful scenery and many fine attractions. You can walk, ride or drive around this beautiful valley and its surrounding hills. The are features stunning spring wildflowers, majestic scenery, wonderful birds, exotic fauna, historic country and towns markets that provide a great opportunity to meet the local community. The local museum has a large collection of machinery and cars from the 20th century. There are a delightful range of walk trails to experience in the surrounding hills and along the Darling Scarp. The walking trails take you past spectacular waterfalls that run in winter and spring,
beautiful views of the coast and forest trails deep into the magnificent Jarrah forest to provide the
perfect nature experience. From Jarrahdale there is a network of forest trails that head off in all
directions from the town. There are also many additional walking trails at Byford and Serpentine.
Walking trail maps are available at the Shire office, the Serpentine Valley Vistor Centre and the
Library at Mundijong. Some of the trails are: Baldwin's Bluff, Blue Rocks Walks, Darling Scarp Guided Bushwalk,
Heritage Railway Hike, Jarrahdale Self Walk Trails, Kitty's Gorge, Mundlimup Trail, Serpentine Falls,
Wetlands Walk.
