Southern Flinders Ranges Wine Region includes wineries between Port Augusta, Port Pirie and Gladstone, and includes vineyards and wineries near the towns of Wilmington, Murray Town, Melrose, Jamestown and Laura. Port Augusta and the surrounding area is known as the Crossroads of Australia. In this area the roads from the Flinders Ranges, the Eyre Peninsula, Adelaide, Alice Springs, Perth and Whyalla all intersect. It provides a perfect gateway to explore the surrounding areas. This charming city is located at the head of Spencer Gulf and is a wonderful holiday destination with many world class attractions and grest facilities. The area is popular for fishing boating and a wide range of water based activities. Port Augusta is home to the Wadlata Outback Centre - a must see for all visitors travelling
to the Outback and the Flinders Ranges. You can stroll through the Outback's `Tunnel of Time`, which is a fascinating 3D display
that provide a great learning experience for all members of the whole family. The Australian Arid Lands Botanic Gardens
is located just outside of Port Augusta.
