The tiny Tumbarumba Wine Region is renowned as producing many of Australia`s best pinot
noir and chardonnay based sparkling wines, and outstanding sauvignon blanc based table
wines in vineyards located in the Snowy Mountains at altitudes between 500 and 800 m.
At these altitudes, the cool temperatures and reduced sunlight helps to retain the highly prized,
delicate flavours in the grapes. Much of the grape harvest is shipped out to other wineries.
The area also produces outstanding regional foods such as apples, apple juice, blueberries,
raspberries, and fantastic beef and lamb. There are many wonderful bushwalking tracks in the area,
including Hume and Hovell Walking Track, Kosciuszko National Park, Paddys River Falls and the
Pioneer Women`s Hut. You can enjoy Fly fishing in nearby Adaminaby Reservoir.
