The Crookwell Wine District includes the farmlands and rolling hills surrounding the historic country town of Crookwell in the NSW Southern Tablelands Wine Region. It is located about 50 km north-west of Goulburn and 250 km south-west of Sydney. Crookwell is a delightful country town with an 1870's streetscape. A major wind farm was established in the area in 1998. Oats, wheat, sheep, cattle, canola and potatoes are the major crops. Some of the major events, activities and attractions are: #Fishing for trout in the local streams and for native fish stocked into Wyangala Dam, which also offers boating, canoeing and kayaking. # The Taralga Australia Day Rodeo in January # The Crookwell Country Festival in March # Bushwalking and camping in the surrounding nature reserves such as the delightful Grabine Lakeside State Park.
