The Southern Tablelands Wine Region includes the area between the
Southern Highlands Region in the north and the
Canberra Region in the south and is centred by the
major service town of Goulburn. It includes the surrounding townships of Braidwood, Crookwell,
Taralga, Collector and Araluen. The area is only 2 hours from Sydney and less than an hour from
Canberra and includes a wonderful range of attractions and activities.
Goulburn has a wonderful heritage as Australia's first inland city and it is a rich centre
for sheep and wool. The area has a mild climate with frosty winters and warm to hot summers.
There are four district seasons and tourism is a major focus based on all the diverse features
of the towns and villages.
