The Mannum Wine District includes vineyards and wineries on the Adelaide-Mannum Road, East of the Mannum and near the townships of Punthari and Frayville. The township of Mannum is set on the broad expanse of the Lower Murray River, located about 70 km from Adelaide via the South Eastern Freeway, or via the very scenic route though the Adelaide Hills and the townships of Gumercha, Birdwood and Palmer. Mannum is renowned for having some of the best cruising and boating waters in the entire Lower Murray River system and there are a number of houseboat operators from which you can rent a houseboat and enjoy a delightful holiday on the waters of the Murray River. There are bushwalking and biking tracks native walks in the Mannum area. There is a wide range of accommodation available and Mannum is a great base to explore the nearby regions of the Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley and Fleurieu Peninsula. The town has many attractions including antique, old wares and photographic museums, water sports, fishing, canoeing, boating and many fabulous restaurants for dining with picturesque river views.
