Ellensbrook West Wine District
The Ellensbrook District includes wineries in the Margaret River Wine region, West of Bussell Highway, South West of Cowaranup, and East of Gracetown. A good place to stay when undertaking wine tours in the area is Ellensbrook Cottages. The area offers a fabulous range of world famous wineries, gourmet food, amazing beaches, fantastic surfing and boating, all in a wonderful pristine environment. It is the ideal destination for a short break away with friends and family or a romantic week-end getaway. This winery has a prime location on Caves Road just 8 kilometres north of the Margaret River Township. Provenance relates to the physical location of this very small, family owned estate in the heart of Margaret River, the great earth in which the vines grow and the maturity of the vines themselves. Discovery is all about the very small quantities produced and the unique Tasting Room experience on offer. Sanctuary relates to the natural bushland surrounds, comprising some of the oldest peppermint trees in the region (as well as jarrah, marri and grass trees). A family (or Passel) of endangered Western Ringtail Possums was relocated here following the 2011 Margaret River bushfires, and the owners continue to support and provide sanctuary to endangered native species within the estate.
