The Delamere Wine district includes the far southern end of the Southern Fleurieu Wine Region near the towns of Delamere & Cape Jervis. The port of Cape Jervis is the major departure point for visitors to Kangaroo Island. It is located about 110 km south of Adelaide, at the extreme south-west end of the Fleurieu Peninsula. Cape Jervis is a popular fishing and boating destination. Some of the attractions in the district are: # Deep Creek Conservation Park - located about 8 km south of Delamere and 120 km south of Adelaide and east of Cape Jervis. The park is a wonderful combination of steep cliffs, rocky outcrops, waterfalls, bushland, walking tracks and lost of wildlife including blue wrens, wedge-tailed eagles, western grey kangaroos, yellow-tailed black cockatoos and scarlet robins. # Talisker
Conservation Park # The Heysen Trail is a famous walking track from the Fleurieu Peninsula to the Flinders Ranges, starting at Cape Jervis.
# Rapid Bay is a lovely stretch of coastline, north of Cape Jervis and features a jetty, a stony beach and rugged rocky headlands.
There are many excellent walks along the cliffs and the waters in the bay are good for scuba diving, skindiving and fishing.
The fish species targeted are squid, sea mullet, yellowtail kingfish, tommy ruff, red mullet, salmon, whiting,
barracouta and garfish, amongst others. The nearby Second Valley Jetty is also and excellent spot for fishing.
