The Bega Wine District, based on the beautiful Sapphire Coast area of southern New South Wales is part of the Far South Coast Wine Region. The Sapphire Coast is famous for the deep-sea fishing off Bermagui, scuba diving, whale watching at Eden, the award-winning cheeses and fresh produce at Bega and the rich Aboriginal cultural heritage around the Wallaga Lake area. Local attractions include: Ben Boyd National Park, Bega Cheese Heritage Centre, Gulaga National Park, Sapphire Coast Visitor Information Centre, Tathra Wharf, all only about six hours south of Sydney, ideal for a week-end
getaway.
