Lovedale Wine Region
The Lovedale Wine Region is a truly magical place with a friendly community and an outstanding array of wonderful vineyards and wineries, most of which offer cellar door tastings and fine food. The Region is part of the greater Hunter Valley Wine Region located about two hours drive north of Sydney. The are also features a delightful natural setting with abundance of wildlife and a variety of local fresh food products in the area around Cessnock, which is the major service centre for the region. The most famous event in the area is the Lovedale Long Lunch, that commences in 1994, and is progressive-type lunch where visitors move around the region wining and dining at seven participating wineries over a the Long Lunch weekend on the third weekend in May every year. This event was won many Hunter
Region Awards for Excellence in Tourism. Several local tour operators offer package deals for luxury coach travel to and from the Lovedale Long Lunch and local tour options. This event is a must for all food and wine lovers. Enjoying tasting the local boutique wines, lovely gourmet food, and fabulous art, music and other entertainment. There is an outstanding range of accommodation to choose from dotted amongst the wineries and vineyards.
