The Kyogle Wine district includes the area surrounding the charming village of Kyogle, located in the hinterland of the Northern Rivers Region of New South Wales. The town began as a timber camp, but has since expanded into dairy, beef cattle and a variety of agriculture pursuits including coffee and tea tree oil. Kyogle, on the banks of the Richmond River, is located about 32 km north of Casino on the Summerland Way, 760 km north of Sydney and is close to the Queensland border. Kyogle is a vibrant town with a rich heritage linked with the beautiful timber products from red cedar and hoop pine. Kyogle is the gateway to many fabulous National Parks including Toonumbar National Park and Border Ranges National Park. Water based recreation can be enjoyed at Toonumbar Dam. You can also visit the
fascinating Border Loop Railway Spiral and Tunnels, and visit many of the nearby the villages of Woodenbong, Urbenville, Bonalbo and Tabulam. Nearby are the famous wineries in the Granite Belt Region, and Gold Coast Hinterland Wine Region in Southern Queensland and New England Wine Region to the west in New South Wales, all just 1-3 hours away.
